Wordpress Plugin: Add Related Posts to Your Feed
February 19th, 2007
If your a big fan of the Related Posts plugin, or use the Ultimate Tagging Warrior on your site, here is a plugin you should probably check out. Its called Add Related Posts to Your Feed, and it does exactly what it says.
Simply load the plugin and activate it and you’re all set! Note: It requires having either of the above plugins active to use.
I have added it to my Best of: Wordpress Plugins list where I keep a list of my favorite plugins, which is constantly updated.
Update: Reader Robin reports that this plugin may interfere with a Feedburner plugin. See the comments for more information!
[Source: Thanks John TP for the heads up!]

Argh! I installed both plugins, both once activated my feed content started with a massive Wordpress database error message. I deactivated both plugins, didn’t help, then deleted them, and the error message is still displayed!
Check the feed for http://web.2point0.be (http://feeds.feedburner.com/Web20InBelgium)to see for yourself
Any idea how I can remove it? Or contact the creator of the plugin?
Robin,
I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing problems. I installed the Related Posts to feed one and it worked fine. I would definitely recommend contacting the maker of the plugin via E-mail or a comment on the plugin page.
Make sure you have UTW (Ultimate Tagging Warrior) or Related Posts plugin installed as well, as it uses those to determine the related posts.
Good luck!
Contacted the maker, we sorted it out (had something to do with the FeedBurner plugin I’ve got installed).
Muchas gracias!
Robin,
Thanks for taking the time to follow up! That is good information to have.
I have FB StandardStats and Feedburner Feed Replacement plugins installed currently and both work fine. Which plugin is it that you were having the problem with?
I’m technically disabled, but I can tell you this:
I have FeedBurner Plugin 2.01 for WP (replaces all my source feeds with FB ones). After I got the error message, I couldn’t make it disappear by deleting both Related Posts plugins and pinging FB afterwards.
I temporarily disabled the FeedBurner Plugin, took a look at the source feed (which worked fine), then saved my feed details in FB again in order to update them, and re-activated the FB plugin.
Note that initially, the error message came from an installation problem that the maker of the ‘Related Posts’ plugin is aware of. He even mentions it in the installation instructions (#4 on http://wasabi.pbwiki.com/Related%20Entries)
Thanks Robin, I will update my post so others are aware of the potential problem!
