Transform Windows XP with Vista Transformation Pack
June 26th, 2007
If you’re a Windows user that hasn’t made the upgrade to Windows Vista, that shouldn’t stop you from feeling like you have Windows Vista.
The popular Vista Transformation Pack now has version 7 available for download for free. CyberNet News lists the following new features:
- Default system font option for recovery
- Docking support for preview and taskbar replacement
- DPI auto-detection in Machine Configuration
- Hiding menubar option for Vista (Styler) toolbar
- Information about KB925902 hotfix issues and solution on startup
- Memory requirements checking for 3rd-party applications
- Resetting DPI options and some extra information in Machine Configuration
- Screen resolution auto-detection
- Setting cleartype font automatically after the transformation
- Vista transformation “Express mode” (Make an appropriate setup configuration in single page!)
- ViStart (Vista Start Menu port for Windows XP/2003 with glass UI and search function)
- Uninstalling existing components before updating
- WindowBlinds detection warning message (for user who is mistaken about glass border skin)
- Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 uxtheme patching support
It definitely goes a long way to give Windows XP users the feel of Windows Vista if you can’t afford the upgrade.

The software is really cool, but I’m afraid it’ll mess up with DLLs.
It sounds cool but would like to hear experiences from someone who has used it before trying it out myself.
Between, I like the blue theme you have going here Kyle!
I don’t have enough Vista desire built up to try it out, but I’ve read some very popular reviews of it from people that are using it.
K – Thanks. I got a lot of feedback that the green I was using wasn’t very easy on the eyes, so I decided to go with a “technology blue” color. I think I like it better so far
I’ve left a little green in in a few spots and when you hover over links, as blue and green seem to go well together.
