I’ve been using ContentLink from Kontera on this site for a few weeks now and so far I am pleased with the results, but there is always room for improvements. John Chow has posted some useful tips on how to make money online with Kontera.

Keep ContentLink To The Content Body
When I first set up Kontera on The TechZone, a flash banner from Ultra blocked the ContentLink advertisement. This is a common problem with flash ads. If you have any banner that blocks off the Kontera ContentLink, then get that fix. If people cannot read the full ad, they will not click on it.

My favorite tip is targeting your advertisements. It requires a minimal amount of coding knowledge. Simply paste the following code at the beginning of your content where you want the advertisements:

<div class=KonaBody>

Now just close the div tag where you want the advertisements to stop. You’ll want to do this in your Main Index Template, Page Template, Single Post Template, Search Results Page, Archives Page, 404 Page, and whatever other templates you may have that will be showing the advertisement This will help you avoid seeing ContentLink advertisements in your sidebar, on your banner, or in your footer.

You’ll also find tips to keep your article titles from being spidered, and how to adjust the colors of your links.

As a reminder, if you have less than 500,000 page views a month, you can now apply for ContentLink through John Chow’s special promotion to get approved.
