Best of: StumbleUpon Greasemonkey Scripts
December 15th, 2007
While you hopefully already know about StumbleUpon’s service, you may not know that there are a series of Greasemonkey scripts that are available to improve your StumbleUpon experience. I wasn’t able to find a lot of them, but I was able to track down a few that are pretty useful.
First, you’ll need to make sure you are using the Firefox web browser and already have the Greasemonkey extension installed.
StumbleUpon Greasemonkey Scripts
- Colorize StumbleUpon Thumbs – Changes rating item thumbs to green and red.
- Compare StumbleUpon Likes – Highlights common Likes on “About” pages.
- Count StumbleUpon Likes – Adds the number of Likes to the “Preferences” and “About” sections of the StumbleUpon site.
- Preview StumbleUpon Posts – Adds a preview button to the StumbleUpon forums and your personal inbox.
- StumbleUpon Best Friends – Creates an area for your top friends, just like on MySpace and other networks. There’s no limit to the number of friends you can add, and no one else will see them. Friends are arranged in alphabetical order.
- StumbleUpon Copy URL Button – Allows you to copy a link directly to tag pages, since StumbleUpon uses Ajax here and therefore prevents direct linking.
- StumbleUpon Edit Fix – Once you are done editing a post, this script directs you to the page you were editing (by default, StumbleUpon would show you the latest page on your blog, rather than the one you just edited).
- StumbleUpon Hover Enlarge – Makes the user pictures bigger when you hover over them.
- StumbleUpon Quick Tag – Suggests popular tags and top personal tags to help you tags your links faster.
- StumbleUpon Sticky Helper – Creates a “sticky” post that stays at the top of your StumbleUpon page. Be sure to review author warnings before installing.
- StumbleUpon Tag Toplist – Displays a top list of the most-used tags, and allows you to sort them alphabetically or by tag count.
- StumbleUpon WYSIWYG Editor – Allows you to format your reviews and comments in a WYSIWG editor.
Any useful StumbleUpon scripts that I missed? Let me know in the comments below!
