I’ve been using Flock for quite a while now, including a period of about 3 months where it was my primary browser (leading up to the release of Firefox 2.0).   Over the 9 months or so since Firefox’s 2.0 release, I’ve been very vocal on this site about my disappointment with the delay that we’ve had to endure for the next big Flock update. This update will include those features that were introduced in Firefox 2.0, in addition to more and improved features to the social aspect of the browser.  Despite this frustration, I’m still a big believer in the Flock project and simply want to see a quicker turnaround each time Firefox releases a new version.

Earlier this week, I was happy to see an e-mail with an invite to try out the latest build of Flock 0.9.  My initial impression so far has been nothing short of a big “WOW!.”  The first thing you are greeted with is a new, yet very similar look.  For those interested in reading more about this new version of the browser, ZDNet has published a great article about Flock 0.9, with good coverage of the browser in it’s current beta state.

To see a list of features and improvements included in Flock 0.9, check out this chart on Flock’s site.  If you’re interested in trying out an early version of Flock 0.9, you can apply by e-mailing Even at Flock dot com.
