Funny 404 Error Messages

Getting the dreaded 404 error message can be frustrating at times.   I know because I seem to find my share of them!

CyberNet News has compiled a list of funny 404 Error messages that people use on their website.  Its definitely worth taking the time to read through.

I’ve contemplated going with something like that on this site.   Currently I have a practical message due to my switch from Typepad (leaving several invalid URL’s from the old site on the same domain name):

Due to my recent switch from Typepad to Wordpress, the URL’s of several of my posts have changed! Luckily you can probably find what you’re looking for in the Popular Posts section of my sidebar to the right.

This may have inspired me to come up something better.    Do any of you have interesting 404 messages?

  1. I don’t see your funny 404 page? I just get a standard 404 page generated from my Internet Explorer browser.

As far as 404’s go, I try to correct them as much as I can. Using Wordpress (being dynamic driven pages) is sometimes hard. Blogger.com writes static html pages, which means you can make permalink structure changes without having to worry about creating 404 pages on your existing post pages.

404’s are not good. I use Google.com/webmaster to review my 404’s and try to fix them.

But, I guess I should have something funny posted on my 404… that would be pretty cool.
