Firefox Extension: Update Checker
If you’ve ever found that you have trouble keeping up with website updates, there is now a Firefox extension available for you. This extension is called Update Checker.
Once you’ve installed the extension, a new icon will be placed in your status bar. By default, it is gray, but when a website has made an update, it will change colors and alert you via a pop-up window.Â
In order to add to the list of websites for the extension to track, you will simply need to go to that site and right-click on it, then select Scan Page for Update. It will then add it to the list of sites to monitor. There are also an autoscan setting that allows you to determine how long the extension should scan for updates.Â
Overall, the extension works nicely, but I’m not really sure about the need. I generally monitor site content via my GreatNews feed reader, but there are always a few sites that don’t have feeds for whatever reason. Â
