Browser Flashback to Early 1990’s
July 12th, 2007
There have been a lot of changes made over the last ten years as the Internet has evolved. Have you ever wondered what your website would look like on an early version of Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator? There is now a way to find out what your current site would have looked like 10 years ago. It’s called Deja Vu Browser Emulator.
Once you’ve picked your browser type, it will generate a virtual browser to view your website. Here is how this site looked using an early version of Internet Explorer:

Haha! Love the warning on the site:
“Sorry, due to heavy load on the server, browsing is quite slow.
On the positive side, it makes the experience even more authentic”
I noticed they didn’t have the Crystal Atomic Browser. I used that to get onto the internet in 1995. On an Atari ST. I wondered what it look like on that!
Now that is great. I wonder what the browsers will look like in 10 years. Virtual browsing maybe? Haha
Nice little find. I used my old favorite, Netscape Navigator. On that note, recently I was surprised to find out that Netscape is still doing stuff on the web! Who knew!?
Rhys – Yeah, I loved that message also
Brown – No idea, but I’m betting it will be closely linked to the operating systems. There has been some talk of browsers becoming our operating system eventually, with everything being stored online.
Bush – Yeah, I’ve talked about Netscape Navigator a bit on this site. They were purchased by AOL awhile back and have a decent browser. The newest release is actually pretty good and supports Firefox 2.0 extensions!
10 years ago, I never even had access to a computer lest of all the internet.. Guess this is the only way to go back to those good ol’ times!
Nice find mate , reminds me of older days .
