Technology Talk - 09/16/2007

It’s finally Sunday after an extremely busy week here at Kyle’s Cove. In addition to some major posts this week, yesterday I debuted my new logo, and now I’m ready for a day off. With the exception of possibly making a few minor design changes to this website, I’ve decided to take the day off and watch some NFL football. Here are a few posts I collected throughout the week that are worth checking out:

  • ShanKri-La has a post up about Windows Live Writer 3.0 and WLW Portable 2.0. I can see using Twitter or something from your mobile, but do you find yourself blogging from your mobile phone?
  • Brown Baron has 720 Free Photoshop Plugins and Filters. This is a bookmark worthy post if you have and use Adobe Photoshop.
  • MakeUseOf has posted the Ultimate Open Source Always Free Applications. I love me some open source.
  • Essential Keystrokes has created a post detailing 6 Easy Steps to Making a Web Hosting Switch. Switching hosts can be a big pain for many, so hopefully many will find this post very useful. Going this route can help you avoid or minimize downtime.
  • FairyFish has released a brand new plugin called Related Posts 2.3. Its called that because it is actually designed for WordPress 2.3 or later and takes advantage of the new tagging features to create related posts for both your website and your feed. Keep this in mind once WordPress 2.3 is officially released!
  • Ryan of CyberNet News has posted the Ultimate List of Keyboard Shortcuts. I love keeping lists like this bookmarked for a later date!
  • Amit Agarwal of Digital Inspiration explains how to best optimize your AdSense referrals.  Better targeting my AdSense referrals is definitely an area this website could improve upon, and Amit explains the best way to go about this.
