Wow, I’m hopefully on the back-end of possibly the worst flu I have ever experienced, which caused me to not even feel up to accessing my computer for the past few days. If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, hopefully that is a good enough explanation. I have quite a few e-mails that I need to go through, so here are a few links to tide you over in the meantime:

  • Lord Matt offers Some SEO Basics and Alexa Rank Mistakes. In the post Matt gives some information about Alexa redirecting, among other things, which has been a much talked about topic on this site.
  • Mark talks about Blue Vertigo, which is one-stop resource for images and fonts. Definitely a site to bookmark for future reference.
  • Hongkiat gives us 26 sites that pay you to write for them. Included are sites like ReviewMe and Sponsored Reviews, plus a lot of sites you probably haven’t ever heard of.
  • Lifehacker.biz offers a comprehensive list of some of the Best Open Source Software available. Open source is a wonderful thing and it is great to see all these companies taking advantage.
  • GHacks gives us 35 Extensions for Thunderbird users. This is a useful list with a lot of extensions, but may be a little bloated. I’ve found in my experience that there are only 5 or so extensions that are worth using if you use Thunderbird in most situations.
  • Web Worker Daily gives us 8 Tips to Make the Most of Microsoft Outlook. If you use Microsoft Outlook as your primary e-mail client, this is a must-read article.
  • Ryan talks about the now available Firefox 3.0 Alpha 7 web browser.   It looks like most of the changes are geared towards improving performance.   I typically don’t recommend the average user begin beta testing a new browser until the Beta 2 phase, but it is always fun to monitor what is in store for us!  Especially the much anticipated Places feature.
  • Mashable covers a new Firefox Facebook application which allows users to display their favorite Firefox Add-ons.
