MyBlogLog Adds About Me Widget
December 17th, 2007
MyBlogLog is known for a lot of different things, but probably the thing I think of the most when I think of the company is innovation. The MyBlogLog widget basically put MyBlogLog on the map for most bloggers, and they continue to add other widgets that continue to impress me.
Today I just noticed that they now have an About Me widget available for bloggers to place on their website. It uses the information you place into your MyBlogLog profile to display a bunch of information about you, including your name, bio, blogs you author, and links to your profiles around the web (such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
This could definitely be useful, particularly for a personal blog. Will you be using this new widget in some form?

Looks interesting but it’s going to take up a lot of space on the sidebar. I wonder if it’ll become a hit?
Good question, though the default widget that many use is probably about that size, plus I would think it would shrink some if you didn’t have a profile with some of those companies, etc. Hopefully some skinning will become available like we have with the standard traffic widget.
I am already doing something like that to help my readers find me elsewhere. This looks kind of useful but as you said it needs more customization options so I can shrink it to save real estate. Honestly, I haven’t looked at it yet to comment my experience but if I can integrate this horizontally into my footer, I am all for it!
