More Information From WordCamp 2007
On Sunday I wrote a post about WordCamp 2007, which talked a little bit about the information provided on BloggingPro about Day 1 of the event.  WordCamp has since concluded, and more thoughts are being found around the blogosphere about what transpired at the event.
Yesterday Lorelle took the time to write a bit about WordCamp 2007.  Included is some great news about the energy and enthusiasm surrounding the open source WordPress software we have all learned to love, which proves that WordPress is headed in the right direction.  Â
My favorite part of the post is the Future of WordPress section where Lorelle gives us a glimpse of what WordPress has in the works.  There is a bunch of great stuff there, but here are the ones that I’m most excited about:
- Expect to see WordPress Plugin updates in your WordPress Administration Panels linked to the database in the WordPress Plugin Directory very soon.
- Tags will be out in the September release of WordPress 2.3. It will function fairly similarly to the popular Ultimate Tag Warrior Plugin.
- A new WordPress Administration Panel will be coming in the WordPress 2.4 release around the end of the year. It is designed to put what users use the most in the fore and improve comments and posting for efficiency. It shouldn’t be a drastic update, but will increase efficiency and access.
The plugin directory will be huge as long as plugin authors get their plugins included in the directory.  If there is something you want to see added to a future version of WordPress, don’t forget to suggest it.Â

Although the article is a bit short , you’ve covered quite a big amount of information . Now that you’ve revealed some of the futures that are going to be available in the future versions of Wordpress , you’ve got me excited as well , can’t wait to get my hands on a new WP release .
P.S : Something is messed with your code , the sidebar on singleposts doesn’t show up correctly .
Take care Kyle ,
CristianR.

Christian, thanks for stopping by! Yes, I try to keep it shorter if possible for two reasons.
1) It is more likely to be read.
2) Someone else wrote the bulk of the content (in this case Lorelle), so I try to only tease a little so people will click over to see the full content and get Lorelle a page view, etc.
I was doing a few minor changes to the site and it temporarily was having problems with the sidebar, but that should be fixed now. Thanks for the heads up!

No problem about stopping by , I really like your website and I can only hope that you’ll like mine . I like your response and all I can add is this is a great form of appreciation of someones work ( in this case , a blogger named Lorelle which we all know ) .
Maybe in time you’ve noticed that combining long posts with short ones , you get the best results .
Regards Kyle and when you have the time , drop me a visit , until then take care buddy .

I was disappointed when the tags feature wasn’t included with the 2.2 release. It looks like 2.3 is going to be great. Thanks for the heads up buddy.

I too was looking forward to tags in WordPress 2.2, but I would rather them get it perfect before it gets released. I might have to install WordPress 2.3 in its current state on a test site to see how things are going and how they decided to implement the tag system.

Brown – I was a little disappointed also. As a result, I’m still on 2.1
I do love my UTW though. I have it integrated with my categories and my SEO Pack plugin. Hopefully the tagging will work in a similar fashion.
Ryan – I am the same way. I never have a problem waiting for a feature if they are wanting to make sure it is done right.
